Background
Allison
Williams was raised in Canton, Georgia. Allison graduated Summa Cum Laude from
Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, before earning
her Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law.
While
in law school, Allison received her Student Practice Certificate and
represented clients under attorney supervision in a variety of civil court
proceedings including Temporary Protective Orders, Child Custody, Evictions,
and Divorce. Allison externed at Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation in the
Safe Families Office where she conducted extensive intake for victims of
domestic violence, and drafted petitions for stalking, family violence, and
dating violence Temporary Protective Orders. Allison also interned at Mosaic
Georgia, a Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center located in Duluth, Georgia
where she represented survivors of sexual violence in a variety of family law
matters, and at Georgia Legal Services Program in Atlanta, Georgia where she
provided legal services to low-income and elderly clients as a Student
Practitioner.
Throughout
law school, Allison served as Treasurer and Committee Chair for Emory Law's Child,
Family, and Elder Law Society, and was an active participant in Emory's Public
Interest Committee.
