Background
Drew Winslett is an associate
attorney with Meriwether & Tharp, LLC. A Georgia native, he graduated from
Mercer University in 2017 with a bachelors degree in Political Science and Law,
Public Policy & Ethics, with a minor in Economics. Drew was inducted into
the inaugural class of Phi Beta Kappa and was recognized with a "Mercer Bear"
award for outstanding contributions to the university during his four years.
Following graduation, Drew moved to Winston Salem, NC where he attended law
school at Wake Forest University.
During law school, Drew worked in
the Elder Law Clinic, helping seniors navigate important decisions regarding
Medicare coverage, estate planning, and end-of-life planning. He embodied Wake
Forest's "Pro Humanitate" spirit of using ones' talents to improve the lives of
others, as he was inducted into the Pro Bono Honors Society, volunteering for
various projects such as Teen Court and the Expungement Clinic.
Drew returned home to Georgia
after law school and began practicing family law with a small private practice.
It was here that he gained valuable experience in various family matters,
including divorce, child custody, child support, and equitable division of the
marital estate, among others.
Outside of the office, Drew
enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsey, and their black lab, Pippa. He
enjoys reading, watching sports (especially the Boston Red Sox), and hiking. As
an avid hiker, he aspires to travel to all 63 national parks, having already
been to about half of them.
