Adultery: Do You Know Where Your Spouse Has Been?

As Georgia divorce attorneys, we are intimately familiar with the fact that adultery plays a factor in a large number of divorces. In order to be granted a divorce on the ground of adultery in Georgia, the Petitioner must prove the allegation of adultery with either direct or circumstantial evidence. As adultery is generally committed in secret, it may be difficult for spouses who suspect their husband or wife of adultery to confirm their suspicions or prove adultery during a pending divorce action. However, to the chagrin of cheating spouses, there is an iPhone application that may provide suspecting spouses a way to verify their suspicions and provide the court with circumstantial evidence of adultery during a divorce case.

This application, which is actually a settings preference on iPhones called Frequent Locations, keeps a locally stored history of everywhere the iPhone has been. This data is generally stored for around a month. Thus, anywhere an iPhone owner has taken his or her iPhone in the past few weeks will be recorded by the application, including the times and dates the iPhone owner arrived and departed from the locations. This information is easily accessible by viewing the history once the Frequent Locations application is accessed. To access this application, simply go to Settings, select Privacy, select Location Services, select System Services located at the bottom of the screen and finally select Frequent Locations.
