Background
Carly Shipp joined the team at Meriwether & Tharp in December 2014, bringing with her over ten years of legal experience. She began working as a receptionist in October 2003, at a law firm in Woodstock before quickly being promoted to legal assistant in the bankruptcy department. She worked as a bankruptcy legal assistant and then paralegal from March 2004 to October 2011, at which time she was offered an opportunity to learn and work in the field of family law. Since that time, she has gained valuable experience in all aspects of family law, including but not limited to divorces, legal separations, modifications, contempts, legitimation and paternity actions, adoptions, appeals, name changes and simple wills. Carly also brings experience on a personal level, having been through the court process, which allows her to better relate to and empathize with clients. Carly is currently a paralegal in Meriwether & Tharp's Woodstock, Georgia office.
Carly graduated in August 2014, from Argosy University, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a 3.96 GPA. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her three children and reading.
