Background

Jonathan Apolinario joined Meriwether & Tharp, LLC, as an Associate Attorney in 2026. Born and raised in Florida, Jonathan relocated to Valdosta, GA, in 2020 and brings an outsider perspective to his practice serving clients in South Georgia and across the state.

Jonathan earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 2010, where he studied Journalism & Communications with intentional focus on developing the skills necessary to provide a strong and effective voice of advocacy for his future clients. Thereafter, Jonathan attended the Florida State University College of Law where he earned his law degree and graduated with a Certificate of Distinction in Pro Bono Service, working at the Florida Innocence Project on behalf of the wrongfully convicted.

Since his admission to the Georgia Bar in 2016, Jonathan has gone to bat for his clients as a plaintiff's attorney in the realm of personal injury and in criminal defense, developing a strong sense of successful negotiation and trial strategies. Jonathan is a qualified Guardian Ad Litem with a personal passion for protecting the best interests of children and helping families navigate the very difficult divorce and custody process.

Away from the courtroom, Jonathan puts family first always and enjoys spending time with his wife, her three children, and his daughter. Having been through the Family Court system himself, Jonathan understands very well what you are going through and how best to ensure you are not alone in navigating your case.
