Nikki Reed, best known for her role in the popular “Twilight” film saga has filed for divorce from her husband Paul McDonald. The divorce petition, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on May 16, 2014, cites irreconcilable differences as the grounds for divorce. Celebrity news outlets, including Yahoo and TMZ have reported that the couple, who met in March of 2011announced their separation in March 2014, but had been living apart for around six months before initially announcing their separation.
In addition to claiming irreconcilable differences as the basis for seeking a divorce from her husband of three years, Reed also requested that McDonald, a former “American Idol” contestant, be denied alimony. The couple, who were planning to release a joint album later this year confirmed that plans to release their debut album have not be derailed by their impending divorce and that they “will continue to share their love of music,” and that “they remain best friends and look forward to their continued journey together.”
