Background
Divorce is a means to get to the next, perhaps brighter, chapter in your life.
My goal, as a divorce attorney, is to evaluate the circumstances surrounding my clients' cases and provide my clients with strategic representation, which may include going to court. To strategize my representation, I analyze each case thoroughly and think of the short-term and long-term objectives and issues. Analysis of each case involves understanding the weaknesses and strengths of each side's position. This approach is similar to the strategy used by the military. During the time I served as a Korean Augmentation to the U.S. Army, I learned that every goal needs a solid, realistic plan. Not just execution of a plan, but also formulation of a realistic plan is important to achieving your goal.
In the context of divorce, formulation of realistic plan requires input from an objective, knowledgeable, and experienced point of view. That is where I come in. I have a strong interest in financial issues that may arise in a divorce case, such as alimony and equitable division of employee stock purchase plans, pensions, restricted stock units, businesses, 401(k) plans, and other assets.
While I have tried many cases in court and am not hesitant to go to trial, I believe amicably resolving as many issues as possible is usually in the clients' best interests. Therefore, my approach to any case would be in a professional, but firm and assertive manner. I have maintained this philosophy ever since I began practicing law more than 10 years ago. The focus of my legal career has been focused primarily on the practice of family law, and the fact that the practice of family law may get very adversarial does not change my philosophy regarding handling my cases.
While the practice of family law entails a busy work schedule, I do have a life outside of work. I live in Cherokee County with my wife, Sara, and our son, Christian. I am a foodie and love to cook. On the weekends, you might find me hiking on the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, lagging behind my wife. I also like to paint. See one of my paintings below.
