Background

Jennifer Brannon was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice before relocating to Norman, Oklahoma to attend school at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Jennifer began her legal career as a volunteer at the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office in 2010 where she observed and assisted prosecutors. In 2011, she became a Licensed Legal Intern and immediately practiced in the courtroom which allowed her to gain invaluable litigation experience. As an intern, Jennifer handled arraignments, bail hearings, preliminary hearings, emergency custody hearings, bench trials, and jury trials. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and became licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma in 2012.

After law school, Jennifer continued with the District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney in the juvenile division. She handled criminal prosecution as well as dependency actions for children who had been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Ms. Brannon was the prosecutor assigned to management of the Oklahoma County Family Drug Court Program and represented the State of Oklahoma in Appellate matters as well as practiced almost daily in the courtroom in hundreds of hearings and trials. She has collaborated with Child Welfare Workers, Law Enforcement, Medical and Mental Health Professionals, Educational Professionals, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and Guardian Ad Litems throughout her practice.

Jennifer moved to Atlanta, Georgia in early 2016 and became licensed the same year. She practiced as an Associate Special Assistant Attorney General in Cherokee County handling dependency cases and also briefly handled real estate closings and condemnation cases. In April 2018, Jennifer joined Meriwether & Tharp due to an interest in family law. Since joining the firm, Jennifer has handled numerous divorces, custody cases, legitimations, child support cases, juvenile court cases, domestications, and prenuptial/post-nuptial agreements. Jennifer is also a mother and a stepparent, so she has first-hand knowledge of many of the issues her clients face and approaches these situations with experience and understanding.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, and cheering on the Sooners in college football. She resides in Gwinnett County.

"Jennifer and team listened well to my goals, advised me accurately and were very efficient in moving through the process. Billing was clear and fair, over all very pleased with the firm and the team i worked with."
