Background
Born and raised in
the greater Savannah area, Hannah Kicklighter Drown is dedicated to helping
families navigate the complexities of divorce with grace and clarity. She is
proudly rooted in Chatham County and intends to stay true to those roots as she
guides her clients through some of life's most challenging transitions.
Hannah is a
second-generation graduate of St. Vincent's Academy. She went on to earn a
Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in Magazine and Photojournalism, cum laude, from The University of Georgia's Grady College. (Go Dawgs!) Toward the
end of her college career, she connected with a local wedding photographer and
spent a gap year prior to law school, along with many weekends throughout law
school, working in luxury wedding photography. This unique background continues
to inform her practice today. Her experience in journalism instilled an
instinct to dig deep and understand each client's full story, while her time in
wedding photography honed her attention to detail, her ability to collaborate
with other professionals, and her skill in guiding people through emotionally
charged moments. She is well aware of the irony, and the full-circle nature, of
beginning her career capturing weddings and now helping clients through
divorce.
Hannah earned her
law degree from Mercer University School of Law, where she was a Georgia
Scholarship Recipient and an active member of numerous organizations, including
the Association of Women Law Students, where she served as 1L Representative
and Philanthropy Co-Chair, as well as Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, the
Hispanic Law Student Association, the Real Estate Society, and Project
Equality. She was also a Top 8 competitor in the Hugh Lawson Moot Court
Competition.
She began her
legal career as an Associate Special Assistant Attorney General, representing
the Chatham County Department of Family and Children's Services in dependency
proceedings. Over four years, she played a meaningful role in protecting her
community's most vulnerable population—children who were abused or neglected by
the very caregivers they should have been able to rely upon most. This work
gave her an intimate knowledge of the laws and nuances surrounding a child's
best interest and custody, along with extensive courtroom experience presenting
intense and necessary evidence to the court while remaining mindful of the
emotional impact on the children and parents involved.
Hannah is a member
of the Georgia Bar Association, the Savannah Bar Association, and the Young
Lawyers Divisions of each.
She and her
husband, high school sweethearts, are proud parents to two young boys—their
favorite people, though they admit they are biased. Together, they soak in
everything Savannah has to offer, from Historic Downtown and scenic marshes to
Tybee Island beach days. As only a true Savannah native could understand, St.
Patrick's Day will always hold a special place in her heart.
