Jason W. Karasik is an associate attorney with Meriwether & Tharp, LLC. Jason obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in 2008. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he began work as a policy fellow for Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue. Jason worked with the House Education Committee and the Senate Education and Youth Committee while doing education policy research. Additionally, he worked closely with the Governor’s Policy Director in providing solutions for Georgia’s education issues.
Jason obtained his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. While in law school, he received the Dean’s Scholarship and was an Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race & Law. After his first year of law school, Jason worked for three different Federal Judges in the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. Jason’s experience in Federal Court afforded him an insider’s look at what it takes to succeed in trial proceedings. After his second year of law school, he worked for a large firm doing mostly commercial litigation work. During law school, Jason quickly developed a significant interest in family law while working in the University of Michigan’s Child Advocacy Law Clinic (CALC). Here, he provided legal assistance to people going through difficult times in their lives and truly enjoyed helping his clients achieve a positive outcome. In CALC, Jason represented abused and abandoned children as a Lawyer Guardian Ad Litem. His job was to determine what was in the best interests of the child and advocate for their interests in court. Jason also represented parents in custody disputes, and he acted as of counsel for the prosecutor in child welfare cases.
On a personal level, Jason enjoys fly fishing on the Chattahoochee River and in the North Georgia Mountains. He also enjoys cooking, golf, college football and automotive repair and restoration.
"During my recent divorce I was truly blessed to have been represented by Jason Karasik, Esq. at Meriwether & Tharp, LLC. Jason used his knowledge to recognize and address any issue that my unique situation threw at him. Jason is dedicated and had my best interest in mind at all times. Throughout the entire process Jason kept me informed each and every step of the way, in a cost effective manner. Jason always took the time to make sure that I understood and without exception was there to return my phone calls if something came to mind. Jason worked tirelessly on my case and he was thorough and very well prepared for mediation ... not only did my team exceed my expectations but the settlement was better than I could have ever imagined. There are no words to express my gratitude...you have truly changed my life and my future looks brighter." Posted by Bobbie.
"Jason Karasik is the best lawyer I have had the pleasure to work with. He did an amazing job to get my somewhat complicated divorce finalized in a very quick and very easy process for me. He made sure to get everything I needed from it, and always with a smile and a kind word. He made what could have been a very sad and hard time in life feel happy and easy. Jason helped me to be able to move on and start the next chapter in my life and for that I will always be so greatful. There is nothing I would do to change or improve the way he did things because he handled everything perfectly. I will definately reccomend him to anyone I know who is in need of a divorce or any kind of family law help." Posted by Kait.
