Rebekah began her family law career in 2016 as a legal assistant for a small family law firm in Middle Georgia. She was initially hired to apply her background as a biologist to a complex, unique divorce case involving control of frozen embryos. The case sparked her interest in all areas of family law, and she realized her passion for providing empathetic, exemplary legal services to clients going through what is oftentimes the most harrowing experience of their life. She has experience guiding clients through the divorce process by helping them understand and resolve the issues such as equitable division of property, alimony determination, child custody and child support. Rebekah also has experience guiding clients through the processes of adoption, legitimation, and modification of existing custody and support orders.

A native of LaGrange, Georgia, Rebekah attended Mercer University on a Presidential Scholarship to earn her bachelor's degree, and, after a few years in the workforce, returned to Mercer to pursue her legal studies. While attending Mercer Law, she was a published member of the Mercer Law Review; received a CALI award for advanced legal research; made the Dean's List; and was an active member of the Association of Women Law Students, Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, Health Law Society, and Project Equality. She graduated and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2017. In addition to practicing family law, Rebekah was active in the Middle Georgia Association of Women Lawyers and Macon Bar Association. She also volunteered with Georgia Legal Services Program, Middle Georgia Access to Justice, and the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank.

After two years of family law practice, she accepted a position as a federal law clerk in the Middle District of Georgia to broaden her base of legal experience. While the year-long clerkship was an invaluable learning experience, it also confirmed for Rebekah that her true passion was for practicing family law, which led her to join the team here at Meriwether & Tharp. She looks forward to offering her extensive legal research and advocacy skills to the people of Metro Atlanta.

In her spare time, Rebekah enjoys gardening, trying out new recipes, spending time with family, and spoiling her dog and cats.
