Janet is an attorney at Meriwether & Tharp. She was born and raised in the metro-Atlanta area. She earned her Juris Doctor at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School and graduated in the top 20% of her class. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and minor in Political Science at Georgia State University where she graduated with Advanced Honors.
Janet discovered her passion for family law while taking upper level psychology courses which often focused on interpersonal relationships and the post-effects of divorce. Regarding family law, Janet has experience in a variety of areas including divorce, equitable division, child support, alimony, modifications, contempt, and legitimation. She also has experience drafting prenuptial agreements. Janet describes herself as someone who believes in empathy, fairness, and in leaving people better than how she finds them.
Janet was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2016. Before joining Meriwether & Tharp, she focused primarily on family law at a large national law firm in Atlanta, Georgia. There, she spent over three years litigating throughout the metro-Atlanta area and other surrounding North Georgia counties.
In her spare time, Janet enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and exploring Atlanta's restaurant scene.
