Background
Amanda joined Meriwether & Tharp, LLC in October 2021.
She began her career in the legal field as a secretary at a law firm in Rome,
Georgia. Soon after she realized her passion for the law, she began to move up
within the firm doing different admin tasks along with legal tasks. Amanda
obtained her paralegal certificate in 2011.
Bringing with her to M&T is 10+ years of legal experience
in family law, personal injury and criminal law. Amanda has assisted a team of
attorneys in a variety of areas of family law cases including, contested and
uncontested divorces, legitimation, child support and custody modification and
adoption. Amanda enjoys being able to help and guide clients through one of the
most difficult times in their life.
Amanda holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from
Coosa Valley Technical College, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
Degree from Thomas University. Also, she is currently pursuing her master's
degree in Business Administration from Thomas University.
On a personal level, Amanda loves to spend time with her
3-year-old daughter. They enjoy being outdoors with their animals, going
shopping, hanging out with friends and taking many trips to Disney World.
